Executive Summary

The PIVOT tool is a resource on Patient Involvement for Value Optimization and Targeted Investment.

It aims to equip Patient Engagement (PE) champions with the knowledge, evidence, and strategic tools needed to position patient engagement as a value driver within healthcare investment processes and decision-making.

Co-designed through PFMD’s Investment, Sustainability, and Impact (ISI) project with input from patient organizations, industry professionals, independent experts, and investors, it addresses a key challenge:

  • bridging the gap between patient-centered healthcare
  • investment decision-making

The tool helps users articulate the financial and strategic value of PE, understand investor motivations, and embed PE across the investment lifecycle. It is intended for individuals with foundational PE knowledge who want to engage investors more effectively and influence capital allocation decisions.
